PJ McFaul and the South Island Lunchbox crew smiling in the food truck serving window at dusk

Comfort food, close to home.

PJ McFaul is the proud owner and head chef of South Island Lunchbox. He moved to the Island from Toronto with his family in 2020. Before the truck, PJ spent twenty years as a letter carrier with Canada Post.

He has a real passion for good, quality food. He cares about what he serves, and always wants what’s best for the people he’s serving. That shows up in the little things: buns toasted to order, wings sauced and tossed fresh, a veggie patty cooked in its own pan.

Moving from a big city like Toronto to a small town like Sooke, PJ found that building community is essential. That’s why South Island Lunchbox partners with local businesses as places to park the truck. If you’re a local business, big or small, that would like to host the truck, get in touch.

“I just want to serve good food to good people, and be a part of the community.”
